Indoor karting is a fun-filled and versatile way to enjoy a great time with friends on a day out or to celebrate a special occasion. Karting involves the highly nimble and fun four-wheeled kart, with transmission and powerful engine, with some going at speeds of 40-mph or more. Indoor karting facilities are now a common sight and seem to appear in most of the major cities, so it shouldn’t be different to locate one near you. In addition to the fun aspect to celebrating a special event, these tracks are often used as a starting point to get into the more serious karting leagues and championships.

Indoor karting is quite an inexpensive way to get your first real experience with one of the most popular adrenaline sports; motor sport, and is enjoyed by the young and old. Indoor karting centers are perfect for the kids as the racing is fully supervised and held in a safe and controlled environment. Also, there is no need to be concerned with what the weather might be doing outside, and also the impact it could have on track conditions. Damp tracks can be much more difficult to handle on a high-powered machine, such as the karts, even if quite experienced. Although, the young can enjoy the thrill of karting, most facilities have age and height restrictions in place, with a minimum age limit often set in the region of 7 or 8-years. Kart performance and engine size can also depend on a child’s age.

A purpose-built indoor kart is constructed with a very strong, yet flexible chassis, a powerful 2-stroke engine, accelerator and brake pedal, and a transmission system which is similar in design to a standard road vehicle. A key feature to the indoor karts is the 4-tires which offer great performance on track, and able to grip an asphalt or dirt track. Quite often slick or smooth tires are fitted on indoor-based carts as these are much softer, which helps with reducing speed and preventing potential accidents.

Seeing that karting facilities are now quite commonplace, it is important to research the qualities of a particular circuit before turning up to race. Make certain an indoor karting arena is registered and insured, with a track that is kept to high safety standards and regularly inspected, and that they are also members of a particular karting association.

All in all, a truly exhilarating racing experience is to be had at the impressive range of indoor karting circuits across the country, and these are perfect for friends, families, team building, corporate events, and so much more.
